The Complete Guide to Using the ROC
The Responsible Organisation Charter (ROC©) serves as a foundation for any organisation aiming to achieve success while also doing good. It consists of 15 principles organised into five key focus areas, addressing the complexities of managing various entities—from sole traders to multinational corporations, and from charities to government bodies. The ROC© provides a robust framework for making purpose-driven decisions and is most powerful if it can be used to gather the views of all key individuals involved with an organisation.
This workbook summarises and explains the areas of focus and the principles to allow anyone to use it to review an organisation they work for or are involved with. It can be completed without having read the book. Winning by being Good does not need to be read in chronological order, so using the workbook to identify specific opportunities where you scored highly or concerns where you score poorly can also help you decide which chapters to read first.
The workbook can be used with members of a department in an organisation, the whole organisation, or, for example, charity volunteers or suppliers or customers. You will need to provide guidelines so that people asked to complete the workbook know whether they should score a section or the whole organisation. Also, let them know if it is to be anonymous or if they need to include their name. If anonymous, you will need to provide a way for them to submit the form without revealing their identity.
You'll gain:
- A systematic approach for reading the book.
- A useful tool for obtaining constructive feedback and ideas from those who are important to the organisation.
- An evaluation of the organisation, department or business idea that can be used for strategic planning and actions
- A ROC© that can be reviewed and rescored to assess your progress over time.
